Spam Blocking from a end user's perspective: Home Computer or Server based?
I would like to set up a "better" spam solution. Right now my host has a basic Spam Assasin setup, but since I don't think I can do anything that would cause an SA-learn like procedure, the spam keeps piling up! (they use a default cpanel spamassasin setup).I am currently trying to find a new host. I've been a satisfied customer of Ventures Online for over 3 years now, but I've gotten to a point where I want more than one domain. (The cheapest solution they have for multiple domains is 35, and for that price a whole world of other companies open up... but since that's 16 more a month than now.... i don't want to!

My site is low traffic, and I basically want a seperate domain for me, my wife, and our hobby (heck, it's not even e-commerce!). I do need a few mysql databases, they are just as low traffic.
So, that brings me back to the spam issue... When I'm looking for a new host, should I even consider some sort of VPS setup that maybe I can configure my own copy of spamassasin? (or something like it) I'd like a setup where I could easily forward an offending email to a spambox@whatever.net to have it auto learn that email for future interceptions. I'd also like to have the ability to read email via the web as well, so I'm not sure setting up a home linux box to do the same is the right answer either...
Any ideas? And if so, how?
