Minimize downtime when moving site
I would like to get some ideas on how to move a site to a different server with minimal/zero downtime.
I am currently looking at using "zoneEdit" and have the current IP and DNS register pointing to them for my current site before I have the move. Am I thinking in the right direction?
It is a ecommerce site I'm going to move and I am a little bit hesitate to let both new and old box running at the same time to avoid potential db chaos.
Anyone has experience with "zoneEdit" or can recommend other services? Would the propagation time for DNS entry be faster if using zoneEdit?
