I've been using ncftp to do a monthly backup to my backup server, but recently my backup host changed something on their network and the transfer speed on a per-connection basis seems to be capped at around 250 KB/s now (was 1 MB/s+ before this week.) But I also notice that multiple files seem to each go at around 200-250 KB/s... I don't really understand the nature of the slowdown, but it makes the monthly backup very very slow now if I do it one file at a time.
Is there a way to do an ftp transfer of a directory and keep 4 files transferring at the same time during the directory transfer?
