how to check if IDE HD is corrupt?
I have 2 web servers with the exact same specs (dual xeon, 200G IDE drives) which are both getting the same kind of backup from the DB server each night, both server are having the same load all the time.
For some reason it takes 2 times longer (more than 1 hour delay) to rsync from db to web1 than to web2.
Also the drive in web1 often seams to 'hang' so I am suspecting a faulty HD.
dmesg doesnt report anything spectacular - any ideas how to test this drive?
