Limiting max number of connections per IP

There are registry hacks that break the HTTP standard and set the max max connections per host higher than they should.

Are theyre any good solutions/modules for apache 2.0 could limit the max number of connections per ip?

Similar to the proftpd MaxClientsPerHost variable?
