Backup Email Servers
Currently we are running some tests to run backup email servers. There are some queries that we had been trying to find documentation on and fail. Would be good if someone can help provide some information.
Now we have a secondary MX record with a lower priority set. Following that:
1. What does the secondary mail server settings need to be in order to store the emails without bouncing them when the primary goes down?
2. How does it "forward" the emails automatically after the primary mail server is back up? What needs to be done?
If you can provide details, it will be great. Otherwise, if you know of books, online resources, and such that you can point towards, that will be fine too. Thanks.
