I have a debian (testing) system up and I want to update the kernel and then compile it myself. What is the "debian" way of doing this? apt-cache search kernel provides a zillion results. Suggestions? Is it possible to have my kernel updated with apt-get dist-upgrade? Its a local dev machine, it doesn't matter if it needs to be rebooted everytime I do this.
