well it was brief, fun, exciting...after 3 weeks the apache conf was up, multiple sites were showing up and i whined about the next step: getting mail enable to fly... and went to their forum and found a nice guy...mark...to get me going and bang! mail enable could pop but not smtp send and we tweaked DNS again and bang ... all sites are down again and I am afraid to change anything since the NEW DNS settings are still propogating: it's hard to debug while waiting for the beginning of the pipe to settle down.
I think a tutorial on walking someone through each step is in order. I found some good ones and will html it all up once I get up again - probably before 3 months have passed.
