down for three (4) weeks - up NOW thanks to WHT
Ok, when I started with apache at the beginning of this month I was in tears, watching 5 years and 20+ sites sitting on a CD because my host freaked when I sent 500 emails to daycare centers offering them free computers... F-em. I think daycare centers and schools SHOULD get free computers and anyone who wants to argue that point with me is welcome to bring the gloves and the mouthpiece or a debate I'll cut up like swiss cheeeeez...However, while I am dumb I try to avoid 'idiot' status and figured that OTHER hosts might argue the same point with me and knew I had to learn apache... the first night i was installing i stumbled in here... since then I have learned to put perl up (i think it is working, i am debugging today) and a mail server (getting help on that from the maker or a really nice user...not sure) and will move on to ftp later...
sites are still a bit crippled but after wrestling with DNS i think most of them are up now...as it resolves and propogates that will improve.
and i again want to thank wht and choon, eboundary, stdnbar and winkie and all you folks here who helped drag me this far.
now, if/when you folks decide, can we write a little 12 year old based tutorial on this stuff for the rest of the world or would
that defeat the purpose of the forum?
thanks again....
