REVERSE DNS - Std and Alt Methods
It took a month (I think this is Feb 1...close enough) to learn enough to set up APACHE, PERL and POP/SMTP on a 2k box on a T1 line (totally wireless and off the grid baby-thanks to wht but I will stop all that 'thank you stuff' cause you guys don't appreciate pats on the back anyway...
and so far THE ONLY ingredient my host had that I don't (and haven't cured or found a cure to) is...
...REVERSE DNS.

DOE! Almost got the entire mix going but not quite.
I tried to send one of you gents an email but it bounced back and is 'waiting' for your server to answer. So, email me via PM's here, eh? Besides, that way you don't get my autoresponders...
Anyway, I know the std method is via our IP. So, we have several. Does anyone know if SBC/DSL offers it because our T1 provider probably won't (sad).
Also, what are the alternatives to Reverse DNS? i.e. running bind and becoming a name server? Would that work? We have plenty of IP addys so if this is what it takes, we'll do it.
Any other ideas? Thanks... I mean, have a nice day.
