Can you publish via FrontPage prior to propagation?
I have searched this forum and several others for an answer. I've read that if the client were to change the DNS of the PC he wants to publish from, to my name servers, then it should work. I also realize that they can turn the FP extensions off, upload the content via FTP and then turn the FP extensions back on after propagation.
Is there any way on a Win2k3 server to do this without any client intervention? I thought I had it working, once in the past, by adding an A record for a sub domain off of an existing domain and then adding a host header to the new domain, but that doesn't seem to want to work. I'm not sure if that method worked last time or if the domain ended up propagating first.
Can this be done? I don't think that a dedicated IP will help in this case and even if it does, I'm not sure that would be the way I want to handle this.
