Help understanding MRTG
I'm a total newbie to reading MRTG and I'm having a problem understanding this situation ... would appreciate some feedback.
My provider is claiming one of my servers is using about 4 Gig a day in transfer and to show me he installed MRTG. I don't know the specifics of how he has this setup ... I assume it's on another box as I log into a domain of theirs to view it.
I'm just not understanding how we can be using that much so to verify I also installed MRTG on the box.
After almost a week the two graphs don't jive at all. His shows A LOT more than mine does.
If I understand correctly MRTG monitors the port so shouldn't the stats of each setup show the same?
Here's the "Daily" output of each as of right now ...
