Problem running MySQL under Slackware

Hi,


I have a problem with MySQL under Slackware:

Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/mysql/var
040214 13:20:17 mysqld ended

I have followed numerous configuration tutorials on the net to no avail. Absolutely any info would be most appreciated!
