SysAdmin's and CPanel Guru's... Please Read

I am currently having an issue with displaying MySQL Databases in the CPanel Account maintenence screen. Nothing is showing at all. Also, on the dashboard, it is reporting that 0 databases are being used on any user account that I log into.

Oh no, it doesn't stop there. Whenever I try to reboot the MySQL server from within WHM it refuses to start and shoots out an error about not being able to connect.

The only way to get it to run is by forcing Safe_Mysqld via SSH. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed this down to a root password error, and yes, I've tried to reset it via ssh, AND WHM, reinstall mysql, change users, etc etc etc to no avail. I've read post after post, all with different solutions, none of which have worked.

At the moment, mysql is up and running, but new databases cannot be added, changed, viewed from within cpanel. Which leads me to believe that cpanel just isn't connecting to the mysql server.

Here are a few reference posts from others with the same problem:

I'm really hoping that someone has some personal experience with this, or knows how to solve the problem.

Thansk in advance!

Ryan
