sendmail is adding hostname to recipient domain?

Howdy folks!

I've recently configured sendmail on a RedHat Enterprise 3.0 box, and all is working well except for this annoying issue with sendmail.

This transcript should illustrate the issue; it's a bounced email that I tried to send to my email from the box (I'm trying to send from "mydomain" (obviously not my real domain; I edited the transcript) to lagnaf@telusplanet.net (another real email address). As you can see, it's adding "webmark01" (the hostname) to "telusplanet.net":

from localhost.mydomain.com [127.0.0.1]

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<lagnaf@telusplanet.net>
(reason: 553 webmark01.telusplanet.net does not exist)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
... while talking to mx02.telus.net.:
>>> MAIL From:<johnc@webmark01> SIZE=745
<<< 553 webmark01.telusplanet.net does not exist
501 5.6.0 Data format error
---

Any ideas? I'm baffled.

Thanks in advance!
