MRTG issues

Anyone know how to get past this issue, even run by cron, gets the same error (without having to put env ... in front of it), crons running but nothings updated

ERROR: Mrtg will most likely not work propperly when the environment
variable LANG is set to UTF-8. Please run mrtg in an environment
where this is not the case:

env LANG=C /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg ...

Also I got MRTG/RRDtool/14.cgi on another machine, but the png's are being created as X (404 i guess), what would the problem be? everytime i run 14aa.cgi, i see alot of core.XXXX files in the folder which 14all resides in

i did edit /etc/sysconfig/i18n and changed it, still didnt fix problem
