Very strange load problem...

My site has been getting these strange spikes where the load will jump from its usual sub 1 all the way to 100.

It seems to happen around the same time each day and has just started happening recently
As far as I can tell, there really hasn't been any increase in traffic.

I am running a PHPBB forum and Moveable Type.
I have a dedicated AMD XP 2200+ with a Gig of RAM.
