Data Stream - Immediate Attention Required

I'm wondering if you guys could help me out with this. I have sort of a situation here and need some information about this, any information would be appreciated.

I have a program that needs to be sent a large amount of constant data via a PHP script. Can I do this without increasing the server load dramatically, and if so, how?
