Are RAID 1 drives worth it?

I was thinking about upgrading my server but my provider only has RAID 1 drives. I'm planning to run a full fledged hosting company. The specs of the server would be

RHE+Cpanel
2x200 GB RAID1 drives
1gig of RAM
Dual XEONS.


Everyone is telling me its a waste of money if I go with the RAID 1 drives. Does anyone have any advice, or input they can give me.
