Remote Console & OS Image Question

This is really a 2 part question, does anyone know of a simple way to setup a light server to act as a remote console for other servers? I'd like to give my clients access to the console and wondered if a few serial cards could setup a viable solution.

My other question regards giving clients the ability to re image thier own servers with different OS's. Is there a reliable system and setup method for maintaining OS images which can be loaded via a remote command to a web interface or something similiar?
