Bind Master is Linux Slave is Windows 2000

Anyone tried using Bind 9 with Master as a Linux server Slave as a Windows 2000 server. Will it work? Another question regarding bind , Bind with 5k to 10k records, it seems the sync from Master to Slave takes hours. Anyone experienced this?
