Some general server/dns/understanding questions
Ok, i'm kinda trying to get a clear picture in my head of how this all fits together, all i've got at the moment really is a bit of a jumble.I'll tell you my system as it is at the moment.
I run a website which was on a shared server. I've recently upgraded this to a dedicated server, with the same host, which runs WHM as the server software, and then CP for the domain software.
The IP address for my website hasn't changed throughout this.
I now have another IP address to access WHM.
1)This is the IP address of the server yes?
2)The IP address I have for the website is one of the 8 IP's addresses i'm allowed to add to this server?
3)How many domains can I add per IP address?
I've recently purchased some domain names, and parked them at my server. In WHM, it gives me the IP address of these domains, which are all the same. The usernames are different, i've set these to represent the domain name itself. So if I wanted to access one of these domain names online, I would type into my browser:
http://123.56.0.177/~username
(replacing the IP address and username with the correct one)
Is this correct?
I'm trying to get a clear understanding of how it all works.
