how to redirect other than using a html page?

im trying to redirect my domain to a folder to my site

so when ppl goto domain.com they will be redirected to domain.com/main

im using cpanel, and ive tried the redirect and tried setting up a tempory redirect, which doesnt seem to work. a

any 1 got a solution?
