backup mx record

I am trying to figure out how to setup backup MX record on 2 cpanel servers. Read on if you think you can help...

Ok.. here is the situation.

Server Alpha: dedicated server with root access running latest version of cpanel/WHM on RHE3.

Server Beta: reseller account for backup purposes. cpanel/WHM

MyDomainName.COM is on server alpha
MyDomainName.NET is on server beta

I need to have server beta as a backup mail server for MyDomainName.com and setup server alpha as backup for MyDomainName.NET.

what's is the most efficient way of doing this?
does it matter that i don't have root on server beta?
how would i set this up in cpanel/WHM?
