How to move from a datacenter to another
I've a pretty small hosting company, but since it's growing and our Celeron 1.3 is having a hard time (load peeks of 3) and I'll probably end up having to do this some day, I'm willing to move to a P4 2.4 GHz.
Since I found out that ServerMatrix has very good prices and reputation, I'm willing to move from my current DC to them.
My main doubts here are:
1) Anyone had experiences moving from RH 9 to RH Enterprise (both using cPanel)?
I've manually (not using cPanel tools) restored my server 2 times from one HD to other, so I guess it will be the same work. I'm only afraid I've problems of compatibility.
2) After I restore all accounts/content and change the IPs on NameServer Registrar, all the traffic will be moved to the new server? Or I'll have to wait 12~48 hours to it propagate?
If I have to do it, I think that's virtually impossible that the content of the sites (mainly talking about forums) doesn't get "dessynked".
