changing the domain into a new one!

Hi guys,

I want to change the current domain name of my website into a new one but I don't like to forward the old domain to the new one becuase that would break all links right?
for example,
www.old-domain.com/some/link.php ==> www.new-domain.com/some/link.php

I think it's something related to .htaccess

anyway, any help is highly recommended.
