Your Lessons Learned

We are currently a bulk reseller customer of Ventures Online. Since merging with Huge Host, the server we are on has gone straight to hell. I'm tired of dealing with the problems and I am considering jumping to my first dedicated server.

I use Cpanel at VO and plan on using CPanel on my dedicated. A lot of the Administration features of WHM will be new to me since I don't have access on my VO account. I've tried reading about them, but even then I need to see the real deal to get a feel for them.

- What I would like to know from you is what things did you learn when you did this?

- What problems did you have and how did you fix them?

- Also, any suggestions on moving a SSL from GeoTrust? I've never done this, but will need too.

Any other suggestions for making this transition as smooth as possible?
