I need to set up a very basic (no control panel) Linux/apache/php/mysql webserver for my university. Basically I need to be able to create accounts for students that will allow them to ftp in and upload files to their webspace only. php and mysql need to be supported. I need to be able to ssh in to administer it. No other functionality is needed. Everything needs to be stable and secure. DNS will be provided by the university dns server.
Can anyone point me to a checklist or howto that can show me the basic steps to setup and maintain such a server? Thanks in advance.
