Crash? Error?

I recently began renting a server from managed.com in an effort to slowly learn linux as well as how this amazing internet works, a little better. I had a good friend of mine do a basic setup, and run HLDS for kicks. All was well for 3 days or so, I attended a LAN party, came home to find the server down. I emailed the company for a reboot and they said this:

We just put a console on your box and it says segmentation faults when trying to mount the filesystem. Therefore your box is not mounting and booting up the OS.

At this point, we can only suggest an OS restore.


: How could it have crashed in the first place? I didnt think HLDS could cause any problems. It doesn't make any sense to me.


Any information on what I should do besides restoring OS would be great (Redhat Fedora core v1) thanks.
