mysql on windows, general questions
I have a windows 2003 server running iis as my web server,
my website is programmed in asp, and I am happy!
I want to start a forum site. All the forums I have seen for asp are pretty well, $h1t! and there are so many great php ones.
Also, I have microsoft sql server but only 10 cals, so I am trying to use mysql as it is free with unlimited cals!
I do not understand how php sets up or if i choose the right package as the other one looked better, but what I have got seems to work fine as I can see php pages.
Now then, with ms sql, I had a enterprise manager screen where I could configure everything, create databases easily, manage users e.t.c.
I have got no idea how to configure mysql, all I want to do is create 1 database that will be used for phpbb, and 1 user.
I have figured out the command to start it up as in the instructions using mysqld --console but I can not figure out beyond this step.
I am experienced at computers so feel free to talk technical!
