Megabit....

I'm just trying to get an understanding here....

Say I have a 5 megabit cable line...

So I'm assuming 5 megabits would be 5000 bits, and then becuase there are 8 bits in a byte, that comes out ot 625.

So does that mean with a 5 megabit cable line, theoretically I could download at max spped 625 kilobytes (just over half a megabyte) a second?
