Setting up my server network (internet LAN)

I installled Red Hat linux 9 on a PC in my room and it does'nt seem to get out to the internet, it's plugged in and all I just don't know how to get it to work. Can anyone help me out with this (I bet I will feel stupid after someone tells me how)
