Carrer Path Suggestion
I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this, but it seemed to fit best in my eyes as I am asking for suggestions and recommendations for the technical field. Anyways...I have my CCNA certification (about a year ago) and although I have not had much of a chance to put it to use, I did enjoy working and learning about the technologies that go along with that certification.
Unfortunately, I live in an area where network administrators are not in high demand. Perhaps I could be able to find a job in which I could further my career in network administration, but it would take more then just looking in the paper I'm afraid.
One the other hand, I am also very interested in Linux and Windows Systems Administration, something that would most likely be much easier to find around here; however, my gut feeling says that it could become extremely difficult to pursue a career in system administration while still working to obtain other Cisco certifications.
So my question to some of you sysadmins and netadmins that have been around for a few years... Do you think it would be within reason to pursue both paths and eventually be considered a professional/expert in both areas, or is there simply too much to keep track of and keep updated on that it might be wiser to pick a single path and focus all my efforts on it (which one to choose will be a difficult decission as well)?
Thanks for an comments,
WH
