I am new at using telnet. I am wanting to tar.gz some files so when poeple down load them they will have the right permissions for the linux. I have tar.gz with in windows and found out that the permissions will be all wrong once uploaded to a linux system.
Does anybody know what command will let me tar.gz a directory?
