Country-level AOL targeting
DigitalEnvoy's NetAcuity product is used by many large companies for geo-locating AOL users. They supposedly do this by employing bots which
Constantly crawl the Internet, providing a comprehensive, global view by utilizing network tools, routing tables (BGP, ASN, etc.) and triangulation from various points on the Internet, to name just a few techniques.
My question is - What techniques would they use to pinpoint the location of an AOL user? They state 'network tools, routing tables and triangulation' - but can any of you guys give a simple explanation of how their 'patented technology' does this? Or a rough guess

My reason for asking is simply because I'm investigating AOL targeting - and am trying to ascertain the resources/technique involved.
Any ideas much appreciated.
Thanks.
