Connecting Windows and Linux

I've had a Fedora/CPanel server for a while as well as a Windows 2003 Server. I've now asked the Data Center to connect them together internally over a 10/100 connection as I believe Windows is great with things like Mail Server and Stats while Linux is excellent for PHP/MySQL.

What I wanted to know was how to get these server talking to each other over the internal network? I've had some expereince with Windows networking where you can set a similar workgroup and share drives- quite easy. But how would I setup the Linux machine so the Windows machine could look and access it.

For example, I want to use a Stats software on the Windows machine and also have it process the stats on my cPAnel server. This would be possible if I can see the Linux Machine in "My Network Places" but that is my question- how is that done? Is it easy to implelent?

I would also love to hear any comments from people that have already tried such a setup and what they feel are some of the advantages and disadvantages.

Thanks
Abbas
