Getting started technical wise.

Ok I have some basic questions on what exactly I need to get an image hosting site up and running. Beside the pages of the site what do I need for behind the scenes. I already have a reseller host picked out now what do I need to process plans for payment and such. Do I use scripts to do all of this or seperate programs.

Some people have recommended ktools.net to me which costs $295 for an image site. I want to learn how to do it myself, just am confused on exactly what I all need.

I am currently working on getting a linux server configured for my own personal use and to have as a backup server for my clients. I have my reseller host picked out and I am somewhat familar with web design.

Can anyone help me out in making a list of what else I need?
