Rootkit Hunter - bad, warning and checksum, readouts
A couple of days ago I installed rootkit hunter 1.1.3 and today upgraded to 1.1.4 but I have been getting:
Checking /etc/xinetd.conf [ Warning! ]
and can`t find much info as to why that would have been a warning..
Today I get:
/sbin/syslogd [ BAD ]
Checking /etc/xinetd.conf [ Warning! ]
Incorrect MD5 checksums: 1
so I upgraded rootkit hunter hoping it was that but still get the same readout.
Any thoughts on the above would be much appreciated, thanks.
My server is RedHat 9 with cPanel.
chkrootkit shows no problems.
