I am wondering how easy it is to store sensitive information on a shared server running cpanel. For instance, is it possible for someone to write a script that accesses my database if they have an account on the same server, or somewhere else? How easy would it be for a hacker to gain access to one's files and databases? Would you consider storing information such as credit card numbers, for example, in a database on such an account too irresponsible?
