When Do Frames Die?

Hi all, I am writing this thread in regards to finding out how frames on a LAN die, in order to get an understanding of what I am saying, carry on reading:

When a frame is sent to a destination, the frame is accepted by the destination, the frame is taken of the network.

When a broadcast frame is broadcast, each node on the network duplicates the frame for its self and the frame carries on down the network, but how is the frame gotten rid of on the media, on a switch network the frames will last for ever will they not, I can understand that if no switches or hubs etc, for example on a bus network, signal loss of the frame will occur and it will eventually "fade away", but otherwise, is there a timer or something that gets rid of the frames.

Also just pondering, how is it that broadcast frames as well as packets are accepted if they are then to carry on the network, are they accepted by a host, and then put back onto the network?

Regards
