Help! I'm going insane!

Alright, now that I have your attention maybe some out there can help with this problem.

I have over 48 hours in on it, 1 ticket with MS, 1 Ticket with GNAX, and there is a ticket open with Plesk. So, we have mutliple heads knocking together and I can't seem to get anyone with a resolution.

First Server Information:
Dual Xeon 2.4GHZ
2GB Ram
120GB SATA Drive
Windows 2003 Standard
MSSQL 2000 Enterprise
ColdFusion MX
Plesk 7 for Windows

Now to the problem. I've been in this industry a long time and on both IIS 4 and 5 this could have easily handled 600+ sites. Per Plesk's spec this should handle 1500 sites.

But I don't do that. I just want the server, which we currently consider full and has about 330 sites on it, to load right.

Currenlty with Plesk each site runs in an isolated application pool. Now, this is a good idea as it creates failover allowing only one site to go down because of bad scripting, etc....

Now, the problem revolves around this though. When initially loading a site when it has to load the application worker process we are seeing major lag times from 30 seconds to 2 minutes to load a page.

Now, once this is loaded the site flies. Not a problem in the world. But as many of you know, for people never having been to the site this initial load is very important.

Although we have only had one or two complaints, I see it and it bothers me.

I have over 48 hours into trying to trace this and can't find a solution.

DOES ANYONE HAVE IDEAS?

Please help.
