Single -> Dual Boot?

Evening everyone. Here's the situation:

I have an older 98 machine, and I want to bring the hard drive over to my XP machine and dual-boot between 98 and XP (there's an application that I'm scared will be broken, runs on 98)

My question is this: will I need to recreate the MBR so that the boot loader will see both OSes? If so, how would I go about doing this?
