How to upgrade 2.4.x kernel?
I'm running a RedHat 7.x dedicated server that's a few years old. It has a 2.4.20 kernel. I've been told that this version of the kernel has root exploits in it. Does anyone know how I can upgrade to the latest kernel?up2date doesn't seem to work anymore (I think RedHat discontinued support for 7.x):
# up2date --download --force kernel
Error communicating with server. The message was:
SSL_connect error
I tried searching for "kernel" on rpmfind.net but it came up with many results and I'm not sure which one to get... does anyone know which kernel RPM file is the correct one to upgrade a RedHat 7.x 2.4.20 kernel?
