Image-Formatted Hate-Mail?
Hi all,Why would somebody bother to send an image-formatted e-mail message. IOW, the text has been scanned into a JPEG and the JPEG delivered in the body of the message with no other ASCII text.
One of my hosting customers is receiving rants from an individual (an eBay seller), calling her all sorts of names. [The transaction completed a week ago and the seller is demanding positive feedback. (?!)] She tells me that its difficult to reply to the messages, because the text is in an image. But, the sender is known and his e-mail address is known and unchanged, so there appears to be no anonymity being protected here.
So, what's the point? Does this somehow allow the sender to rant without accountability? There must be some reason for this effort.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Dave
