Real-time transactions and network latency issues
Hello all,Our real-time credit card payment processor is based in the U.K - where our Internet Merchant Account is. Would there there be any significant increase in network latency - thus poor response times from our server - if we are to acquire a dedicated server in the U.S, and deploy our application there? All credit card transactions are processed real-time across a SOAP interface. Does the distance between the server and payment processor really matter, or is the bandwidth and network speeds so good that the distance has no noticeable impact. We anticipate a high volume of activity on our site.
Thank you kindly!
Murphree.
