synching dns at cpanel server with other ones

I have read several times that DNS servers should be located on different locations. However when you contract a dedicated server and setup it with cpanel you are forced to have 2
DNS in the same network (your provider's network).

If I would like to have another set of DNS servers and synch them
with the cpanel ones, what should I do?

I have been thinking about a Linode or VPSColo account, as I plan to get one of those for installing Nagios and monitor my websites with it.
