Newbie: with apache errors on new dedicated box
I recently purchased a dedicated server and I got the details sent to me today. Upon logging in to the WHM/Cpanel software I noticed apache and bind were flagged as being failed in service status.
I continued to log in via SSH and tried to manually start the apache service and got the following message:
root@ltsv-206 [/]# service httpd start
/etc/init.d/httpd: line 89: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/httpd start: httpd could not be started
So i was confused esp being a newbie with linux. I looked in the /usr/local/apache/ path and cant find a bin folder there and am unable to find a httpd.conf file either.
Do i have to rebuild apache or something? Anyone willing to help a real linux newbie? lol Also the status shows Bind as failed and not running but Im unsure what to do with that. Are these issues related? How can i test that out etc?
I'm running Linux Fedora Core 1 along with Cpanel/WHM. Ivve submitted a support ticket with my dedicated host but thy havnt got back to me yet so thought this was second best place to ask.
