Differential Backup via FTP?

Hello,

Is there any FTP client software available that can do a basic differential compare/backup using a standard FTP server?

It doesn't have to be a byte for byte comapre like RSYNC, it would be ok if a whole file needed replacing (if it had changed).

I know RSYNC would be ideal, but this would need to be FTP for the time being.
