I need a little help configuring mysql.ini on a Windows Server 2003 server. We're using a modified mysql-huge.ini at the moment, but we're having performance problems. This doesn't seem to reflect upon the users online, we've had over 1,000 users online with the forum being blazing fast. For example, just before writing the post we had around 300 users online and the forum was very slow. Upon logging into the server to check if there was any problems (which took long enough!), mySQL was using 99% of the CPU.
Here are the specs: 2.8GHz P4, Hyperthreading enabled 1GB RAM 7,200rpm Hard Drive 100mbps Connection
Here is the primary application: A large Invision Board (www.invisionboard.com) PHP forum with a 1.1GB mySQL database (which we try to prune down to around 1GB every few months) 300-1,000 users online at one time
