Firewall Blocking the Innocent
I have a technical question for any of you who might know anything about firewall setups on servers. I've searched extensively online to find a solution but haven't yet found anything. It seems that there are some users that are on a Private Network setup in an office who all use one of my Invision Board forum sites. From one day to the next they were blocked by my hosts firewall then I heard of another incident in different part of the world but also a network setup with multiple users using the forums at the same time.
It seems like the firewall looks at it as a threat. Now I have researched and tried many different things but nothing seems to help. It could be a virus or some kind causing some DDoS attack but it seems unlikely esp when a few places are experiencing the same problem. So my question is.. is it possible to limit the outgoing packets or traffic in order to block an overwhelming amount of hits (although I can't see how 3 or 4 users can cause that but that's what my hosts says) before they get blocked by the external server? Or any other tips and solutions would be greatly appreciated.
